Even the Stars

even the stars can grow cold
I don't know what that's from but it's on my inspiration folder and it kept running through my head while I was painting this.

Aghhhh this.
I'm really happy about this. Painting the wings felt like stained glass. There's nothing resembling a consistent light source in those folds but I don't care because I love them. The chains are the one thing that didn't really work out as well as in the sketch, but I was running very low on patience by that point because I really wanted to just finish this before school started and I don't have time to paint anymore.

There were so many adventures during this, haha. I dipped my paintbrush in my tea, I spilled water on it (and my laptop :c), I WATCHED SEASON THREE OF SHERLOCK which is apparently not good for painting because it's very distracting.

ANYWAY. This is for my art trade with Entitaria, of her character from this beautiful image, and I used this magnificent stock image (by MariaAmanda and Jan Holte Teller) as a reference.

Done in acrylics! And sharpie for the swirlies.
